Device prompts memory is insufficient or storage full

Problem causes:

If the remaining storage is insufficient (less than 5%), the phone will prompt that the memory is occupied too much, indicating that the memory is insufficient. When the available memory of the phone exceeds 10%, the space-cleaning pop-up prompt will automatically disappear.


Solution:

1. Clean storage space

It is recommended that you uninstall apps that you do not use frequently. Downloading too many apps will take up a lot of storage.

Clean up phone space: Enter the "Phone Manager", and choose "Clean up storage". Clean up the data you don't need. Besides, you can also use "Optimize" to free up storage space based on the scan results and cleaning suggestions.


2. Check if "Multiple users" is enabled

Adding multiple users will occupy the storage space of your device. It is recommended that you delete unused users (the phone comes with a multi-user name: "Guest" that cannot be deleted).

Path: Go to "Settings > Users and Accounts > Multiple Users", and check whether there are any unused users. if so, click it and select "Delete User".


3. Backup data to Google 1

When you run out of storage, you can back up your data to cloud space.


4. Reset the phone to factory settings

It may take up a lot of storage due to the long-term cache data of some third-party apps. It is recommended that you back up the data, go to phone "Settings > System settings > Back up and reset > reset phone > Erase all data", and reset the phone to factory settings.


If the remaining storage space is sufficient (more than 20%), it prompts that storage is insufficient. It is recommended that you back up your data and visit the nearest realme service center.
