Overview:
For Jio and Airtel, when a device registers following network, it will show a different 5G icon.
Case 1: 5G icon: 5G NSA
5G NSA (5G Non-Standalone Architecture) is a 5G deployment architecture, alongside Standalone Architecture (SA). Its core feature is relying on the existing 4G core network to handle control signaling and part of data transmission, with 5G only serving as a supplementary wireless access method to boost speed.
Case 2: 5G++ icon: 5G NSA with 4G CA(For Airtel)
"5G NSA with 4G CA" is a combined mode of 5G Non-Standalone Architecture (NSA) and 4G Carrier Aggregation (CA). The combination of the two can balance the high speed of 5G and the coverage reliability of 4G, optimizing the overall network performance.
Case 3: 5G+ icon: 5G SA
5G SA (5G Standalone) is a fully independent 5G network. It does not rely on 4G infrastructure and operates with its own base stations and core network. It features faster speed, lower latency, and can flexibly adapt to different service needs (such as autonomous driving), with better performance.
Case 4: 5G++ icon: 5G SA with 2CC(For JIO)
"5G SA with 2CC" refers to a 5G network with standalone architecture that simultaneously uses 2 component carriers aggregated to enhance network speed and capacity.
Case 5: 5GA: 5G SA With 3CC
"5G SA with 3CC" refers to a 5G network with standalone architecture that simultaneously uses 3 component carriers aggregated to enhance network speed and capacity.
Note:
1. Currently, the deployment of 5G+/5G++/5GA base stations is relatively limited. Whether you can actually experience 5G+/5G++/5GA communication depends on the distribution of operators' base stations. It is recommended to consult local operators for information on coverage and activation.
2. Only some models support 5G++/5GA frequency bands. Please refer to actual usage.
