If you experience low volume, sound from only one side, or no audio at all while using wired earphones, the cause is often a loose connection, debris in the port, or specific software settings rather than a hardware failure. Please follow these steps to restore your audio experience.
I. Check Connection and Hardware
1. Clean the Headphone Jack and Plug
Dust or lint accumulation inside the phone's headphone jack or on the earphone plug is a common cause of poor contact. Please gently clean the plug with a soft cloth. If possible, inspect the phone's port and use a soft, dry brush to carefully remove any debris to ensure a solid connection.
2. Re-plug and Rotate the Connector
A loose connection can result in intermittent or mono sound. Please unplug the earphones and firmly plug them back in, ensuring they are fully inserted. You can also try gently rotating the plug while it is inserted to see if the contact improves.
3. Test with Different Earphones
To determine if the issue lies with the phone or the headset, please try using your earphones on another device, or try a different pair of functional earphones on your phone. If the other earphones work fine, your original headset may be damaged.
II. Settings and Compatibility
1. Adjust Volume and Audio Balance
Sometimes the media volume is simply turned down, or the audio balance setting has been shifted. Please press the Volume Up button to ensure the sound is audible. Additionally, go to Settings > Accessibility & convenience/System/Additional settings > Accessibility and check that the "Channel volume balancing" slider is centered.
2. Check Adapter Compatibility
If your phone uses a Type-C adapter instead of a 3.5mm jack, compatibility issues can occur. Please ensure you are using the official adapter provided with the phone or a compatible third-party adapter that supports your specific model.
3. Restart Phone and Update System
Software glitches can occasionally silence the audio output. Please restart your phone to refresh the audio drivers. We also recommend updating your phone to the latest software version to fix any potential system bugs affecting wired audio.
