Abnormal audio during calls is usually caused by environmental interference, blocked parts, or settings. You can follow the steps below to troubleshoot and quickly restore clear call quality.
I. Basic Checks and Quick Fixes
1. Check for blocked parts
Please check if your phone case or screen protector is covering the receiver or microphone holes. We recommend removing the case or protector and trying the call again.
2. Clean the receiver and microphone
Look closely at the receiver and microphone holes to see if they are blocked by dust or debris. If you see any blockage, gently clean it with a soft brush to ensure the sound path is clear.
3. Restart and update the system
Restarting your phone can fix temporary software conflicts. We also recommend checking for updates in your settings and upgrading to the latest version for the best compatibility.
II. Signal Environment and Hardware Tests
1. Check network signal
If you are in an elevator, underground garage, train, or other enclosed or fast-moving environments, unstable signals can cause calls to cut out or go silent. Please try turning Airplane Mode on and off to reset the signal, or move to an open area. If the issue only happens in specific locations, it is likely due to your carrier's network coverage.
2. Test hardware functionality
Speakerphone test: During a call, tap the "Speaker" button. If the speakerphone works but the receiver (earpiece) has no sound, the receiver might have a hardware fault.
Recording test: Use the built-in Recorder app to record a voice message and play it back. If the recording has no sound or is very quiet, the microphone might have a hardware fault.
3. Test with a different SIM card
If the methods above don't work, try using a different SIM card in your phone, or put your SIM card into another phone. If your card has the same issue in another phone, please contact your carrier.
If these steps do not solve the problem, please bring your invoice, warranty card, and phone to a realme Customer Service Center for inspection and repair.
