Watching videos is a demanding activity for your phone. During this process, the screen needs to stay on for extended periods, the processor constantly decodes images and sound, and the speakers or headphones are continuously active. This efficient teamwork among multiple components naturally leads to increased power consumption, which is a normal physical phenomenon. Please refer to the following suggestions to enhance your video experience and effectively extend battery life.

I. Optimize Screen and Playback Settings

1. Adjust Screen Brightness and Volume

A constantly lit screen and speakers playing loudly for extended periods are the primary sources of power consumption when watching videos. We recommend enabling "Auto brightness" to avoid watching videos at maximum brightness for long periods. Additionally, watching videos with headphones significantly reduces the power consumption of the audio module compared to using external speakers.

2. Lower Video Quality and Effects

Ultra-high definition quality (e.g., 4K, 1080P high frame rate) and real-time bullet comments require the processor to perform extensive graphics computations. If you don't require extremely high picture quality, we suggest adjusting the resolution to 720P or standard definition in the video playback interface, and trying to turn off bullet comments. This can effectively reduce your phone's workload and save power.

II. Optimize Network and Operating Environment

1. Maintain a Stable Network Environment

Watching videos online in an environment with poor or fluctuating network signals will cause your phone to automatically increase its signal reception power, leading to a sharp increase in power consumption. We recommend prioritizing a stable Wi-Fi network for watching videos.

2. Clear Background Applications

If many other apps are running in the background while you're watching videos, or if apps are uploading/downloading data in the background, this will cause additional power drain. We suggest clearing unused background programs before starting a long video session to reduce unnecessary resource usage.

3. Avoid Using in High-Temperature Environments

Ambient temperature significantly affects battery performance; high temperatures accelerate battery aging and power consumption. We recommend watching videos in well-ventilated places with moderate temperatures (15~30℃). Avoid direct sunlight or watching videos while charging to prevent the phone from overheating, which can accelerate power drain.

If none of the above methods solve your problem, please back up your phone data and bring your purchase certificate to the realme service center for further assistance.
