When you turn on a personal hotspot, your phone has to receive data and send out a signal at the same time. This is a high-performance task. The heat generated by the communication components during this process is a normal physical phenomenon. It generally does not affect the safety of your phone, so please feel free to use it.

The following tips can help you control the temperature and improve your experience:

I. Basic Environment and Settings Check

1. Close high-power background apps

We recommend swiping up to open the task manager and clearing any background apps you aren't using. Closing apps like games, video calls, or large file downloads will significantly lower the system load and reduce heat.

2. Improve the cooling environment

Please avoid using the hotspot while your phone is in a closed space like a pocket, backpack, or under blankets. It is best to place the phone on a well-ventilated desk. If the temperature is high, you can temporarily remove the phone case to help it cool down faster.

3. Move to an area with a better signal

In weak signal areas, your phone automatically increases its transmission power to maintain the connection, which generates more heat. Try moving to an area with a stronger network signal when using the hotspot.

II. Advanced Usage Tips

1. Avoid using while charging

Both charging and running a hotspot generate heat. Doing both at the same time will cause the temperature to rise quickly. We suggest using the hotspot when you aren't charging, or using a lower-power charger to slow down heat buildup.

2. Optimize hotspot connection settings

The more devices connected, the more data your phone processes, which creates more heat. We suggest going to "Mobile Network > Personal Hotspot" to limit the number of connections and remove any unknown devices. Also, turn on the "Automatically turn off" feature to prevent continuous heating if you forget to turn off the hotspot.

3. Use cooling accessories

If you need to use the hotspot intensively for a long time (such as for outdoor live streaming), the phone's built-in cooling might not be enough. We recommend using a phone cooling fan (back clip) to keep the device cool and stable.

If your phone still experiences severe heating (such as becoming too hot to hold, slowing down automatically, or apps crashing) after trying the methods above, please back up your important data and visit a realme Customer Service Center with your proof of purchase for a professional inspection.
