Your phone may get warm while charging. This is a normal physical phenomenon caused by energy conversion.

You might notice the heat more when using fast charging. Please rest assured that in most cases, this is completely normal. However, if your phone feels noticeably hot, please try the following solutions to troubleshoot and cool it down:

I. Troubleshooting While Charging (Phone Idle)

1. Use Original Charging Accessories

Please ensure you use the original charger and data cable that came with your phone. Third-party or non-original accessories may not match the required power or charging protocols, causing the phone to generate extra heat.

2. Improve Heat Dissipation

Charge your phone in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid charging in direct sunlight, hot cars, or on soft surfaces that trap heat (like beds or sofas). Also, please remove thick silicone or metal cases before charging to help the phone cool down.

3. Adjust Smart Charging Settings

For phones that support Smart Rapid Charging (e.g., 80W and above), the system automatically adjusts the charging strategy based on the device's status. If you are sensitive to heat, you can turn this off by going to Settings > Battery > Charging Settings > Smart Rapid Charging. This will balance charging speed with temperature control.

II. Troubleshooting While Using the Phone (Charging & Playing)

1. Reduce Device Workload

Try to keep the screen off while charging. Avoid high-energy activities like playing heavy games, watching videos, or making long calls. These activities increase power consumption and will raise the temperature further. We recommend clearing unused background apps before charging.

2. Enable Bypass Charging

If your phone supports it, we recommend turning on "Bypass Charging" while gaming or using the phone heavily. You can find this in Settings > Battery > Charging Settings > Bypass Charging. This feature powers the phone directly without going through the battery, effectively reducing heat generation.

If you follow these steps and your phone still gets excessively hot every time you charge it, it may indicate a problem with the battery health or other internal hardware. In this case, it is recommended to take your device to the nearest realme authorized service center for a professional inspection.
