Phone still drains battery when powered off

It's natural to expect your phone's battery to retain its charge perfectly when powered off. However, a minimal amount of battery drain can still occur. This is a normal phenomenon, and here's why:

Even when powered off, your phone's internal circuits maintain a minimal power draw to support essential background processes, such as keeping the real-time clock updated and enabling the power button to function. Additionally, all lithium-ion batteries naturally experience a phenomenon called "self-discharge," where they gradually lose charge over time, even when not in use. These factors combined contribute to a slight power loss, which is completely normal.

Important Note for Long-Term Storage:

If your phone remains unused or uncharged for an extended period, the battery may enter an excessively discharged state (often referred to as "deep discharge"). This can trigger a battery protection mechanism, making it difficult or even impossible to charge the phone normally later on. To prevent this, if you plan to store your phone for a prolonged duration, we highly recommend fully charging it to approximately 50% every few months. This practice helps maintain battery health and prevents deep discharge.
